About
Counsellor, art therapist, founder.
Jacintha Field, known to most people as J, works with children, teens, parents, families and workplaces on the parts of life that are hard to say out loud.

This work started at home, not in a lecture theatre.
Jacintha is a qualified family and child counsellor and art therapist. The private practice began in Torquay and has now been brought into Albert Park, Melbourne. It grew out of a lived experience that thousands of Australian families will recognise: a child struggling with emotions far bigger than his little body, and a waitlist of six to twelve months before anyone could help.
Rather than wait, Jacintha retrained. What began as a mother learning how to support her son became a private practice, a platform sharing the voices of athletes and role models, a podcast and a steady presence in the national conversation about children, screens and mental health.
The approach is warm, real and practical. Through counselling, art therapy and play therapy, sessions are built around tools that can be used at home and in everyday life, not only in the therapy room.
Alongside the clinical work, Jacintha has parented through separation and speaks in a real and raw way about the difficult parts of family life, healing and rebuilding.
The first question I always ask
“Do you feel safe?”
That is what I ask every child as soon as they walk into the room, before anything else. That element of safety is the foundation everything else is built on. When a child feels safe, and is really seen for who they are, the self-regulation skills, the resilience and the parent-child connection all have somewhere to grow.
The journey
From a kitchen table to a national platform.
The turning point
A six to twelve month waitlist
When my son was struggling with feelings that felt too big for his body, our family faced a wait of six to twelve months for support. That experience became the reason for everything that followed.
Retraining
Back to study, mid life
Formal qualifications in family and child counselling and art therapy, with further study in play therapy, mindfulness and breathwork, and certification as a kids' yoga teacher.
Private practice
From Torquay to Albert Park
The private practice began in Torquay. Helping children through art therapy and play therapy, supporting self-regulation, strengthening the parent-child connection and really seeing each child for who they are became the heart of the work. That practice has now been brought into Albert Park, supporting children, teens, parents, carers and families in the room and online across Australia.
The platform
Happy Souls Kids
A platform that uses the voices of athletes and role models to teach children mindfulness and self-regulation, with 38 heroes across 9 sports and a mission to reach 100,000 children by 2027.
The microphone
RAW with J, stages and press
Honest conversations with guests reaching a combined audience of 17 million, alongside keynotes, panels and commentary in national newspapers, magazines, radio and television.
